The new Francone label will be disclosed for the first time at Vinitaly 2019
Nascetta is a native white grape variety of the Langhe. Very aromatic, with a strong character and suitable for aging. It endured for many years in the shadows, with some lonely row of vines in the vineyards of the Novello area. Later, it has been rediscovered thanks to the passion of a group of winemakers who believed in it and, after many years of passionate research, made available to all of us this very rare grape variety. The DOC was in fact established only in 2010.
With the strength of a lioness, Nascetta returns to the limelight and is ready to seduce you: here you are ... Leonina!
This wine comes from a vineyard planted in 2015 on the Gallina hill of Neive. Last autumn we vinified the first vintage of Nascetta. A limited production of 2,800 unique and precious bottles that you will definitely appreciate.
It is an ancient wine but very modern in taste and drinkability. It is striking for its intense aroma and its characteristics make it also good for aging.
Putting it back into production gives new strength to our land and enhances a part of the Langhe wine heritage in which we strongly believe.
With the Leonina also debuts the new style of our labels that you will find over the next few years on our fruity wines.
Curious to taste it? You will find it in preview at Vinitaly 2019, in Verona from 7 to 10 April 2019.
As an alternative, you can order it by writing to us or tasting it during a visit to our winery.
We are waiting for you!
