World Heritage Site
UNESCO

We are proud that our winery and our vineyard in 2014 became part of the area recognized World Heritage Site from UNESCO.

Is a further acknowledgment for the wonderful "terroir " of Neive, already joined to the " Borghi più belli d'Italia " - Most beautiful villages in italy- and "Bandiere Arancione " - Orange flag - of the Italian Touring Club.

Neive is historically the " Village of the four wines ", because the ground and the micro-climate, both extraordinary for the cultivation of the vine, allow us to obtain great results, both from the vines with black berry( Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto) and from those with white berry as the Moscato.

The Gallina Vineyard in Neive

The Gallina hill represents one of the most fascinating terroirs in Piedmont.
The Gallina Vineyard, which is on Renato Ratti’s Map of historic Barbaresco Cru-vineyards, produces wines with a distinctive character, thanks to the magical interaction between its chalky soil, south-facing aspect and ideal micro-climate.

In 1990 the Francone family decided that these vineyards merited a label of their own, and created Antichi Poderi dei Gallina: complex, stylish wines with excellent ageing potential, made unique by a unique terroir, Gallina in Neive.  The grape varieties cultivated on this hill are :
Nebbiolo ( Barbaresco 'l Ciaciaret), Dolcetto ( Menturin), Moscato (Poderi Gallina), Chardonnay ( Le Rose) and soon, two new vineyards will be born here, with Pinot Nero and Nascetta.

The historic vineyards in the Langhe

Further to the vineyard Gallina in Neive, which is the heart of our production, there are others vineyards that supply us with superb grapes for our wines :
• from the hills San Cristoforo, Fausoni, Starderi, Tetti in Neive;
• from La Morra and Monforte (for our Barolo);
• from Castagnito in Roero (for our Arneis).

The oldest vineyards, also over 40 years old, allow us to obtain extremely complex and long-lived wines.
